INTERNATIONAL PLAYERS
AT MEADOW LANE
The lower leagues have always been a breeding ground for young internationals from all different countries but Meadow Lane has also had its share of  fully capped players in recent years. Here's a quick look at some of the more prominent .
GEOFF THOMAS
More popularly known for a two year stint at the other place, Geoff joined Notts in the March of the 2000-1 season and played until its end.Despite a career that covered a successful spell at Crystal Palace and later Wolves, his England appearances were restricted to friendlies and one famous miss against France.In 2005 he did the Tour de France having successfully beaten Leukemia.

LEE WILKIE
The Scottish international came to the Pies during the Great Escape campaign although his games were all in the first half of the season. On leaving the club he moved to Dundee and was selected for Scotland, playing a big part in their Euro 2004 campaign. After one of those matches he told a newspaper that his loan stint with Notts had been one of the low points of his career.


JAMES QUINN
The Northerm Ireland international came to Notts on loan from West Brom during 2001. He was an immediate hit, scoring three times in seven games before going on to appear in  his countries next Euro and World Cup campaigns.

FABRICE MOREAU
The French-born Cameroon international came to Notts for a brief period during 2000-1 season playing five games.Unlike most of our other loanees he came as a fully capped player.His previous record was impressive having gone to the France 98 World Cup with his country.
JEFF WHITLEY
Zambian born Jeff had two spells with Notts in consecutive seasons. As part of the Great Escape squad he was an integral part of keeping the team in the division and the following season returned to play a further fourteen games. His spell in stripes didn't come to an end there as he moved to Sunderland and was in the side that gained promotion to the Premiership. As an international he scored twice for Northern Ireland.
