Fellow Pie, Craig Smith, has sent us some great pics from his collection of early shirts. |
Craig says "This is definitely a player issue shirt given the quality of the logo, the size (medium adult), the fact it's long sleeved and the number on the back. The only puzzle is why number 14? 2nd subs weren't introduced until well into the 80's. I would date this shirt as 77-78 season as the Adidas logo appeared on the right the following season and until the collar flaps disappeared in 81-82 when we were promoted (I have a picture of Les Bradd in the same shirt from 77-78 without any Adidas logo on his shirt). If anyone knows why number 14 though, I'd love to find out.... |
Craig says "This is a Craig Short shirt from the 91/92 or 92/93 season. I bought this from someone who was given the shirt by Shorty. This is the alternate "home" shirt used when we played in black and white away from home as it has McEwans as the sponsor. Again, no doubt it is match issue given the badges, embroidered (rather than iron on logo) and the fabric rather than plastic sponsorship banner. |
