Notts County All Stars V Nottingham Forest All Stars
17th May 2015

Not too many stars in either of these All Stars teams. Not too much in the way of good cheer either coming, as it did, just after Notts were relegated. That being said, it did give fans a chance to remember the longer history of the club with all monies going to the Jack and Jimmy Fund. Some familiar faces from the recent past amongst the Pies ranks though and on the other side as well (stand up Lee and Westcarr). The feeling overall  was certainly  in evidence that a team could have been made up from those players that would have comfortably avoided the drop and enjoyed doing it. A good day all round though and who couldn't feel a warm nostalgia as we experienced the traditional pattern of taking an early lead only to throw it all away at the end or the even more familiar sight of Stall, hands raised and that 'butter wouldn't melt' look gaining yet another penalty for Notts....the man is pure quality ! Some things never change !

MC, as ever, was 'Uncle' Colin Slater. Talk of retirement, it transpired, was premature.
Mr Dudfield, Mr Lee and Mr Stallard line up to play what turned out to be the most enjoyable game at Meadow Lane all season.
This little scene sees an indirect free kick being given and Notts converting from the ensuing goal mouth scramble. The sight of Stallard with his arms raised for a goal is nearly as common as Stallard with his arms raised appealing for a penalty...which he always got and converted. I want him back in the side now.

Below, a couple of scenes showing that it all got a little tasty ! Why can't Notts get this involved every week ? They wouldn't have gone down...

Nice finish from Dudfield to look out for also....sign him up
All friends at the end !
